Magento Development and Adobe Commerce Services

Version, code and the way forward

Aranv brand pattern

What a Magento project includes

Aranv is a Magento development company for businesses running Adobe Commerce or Magento Open Source. We upgrade stores to supported 2.4 releases, fix extensions and slow pages, build custom modules and, when it is the better choice, plan a move to another platform.

Adobe gives each Adobe Commerce release three years of standard support from its general availability date and publishes the end dates in its lifecycle policy. Version 2.4.6 left standard support on August 11, 2026, and 2.4.7 follows on May 31, 2027. Adobe added one year of extended support for both at no extra cost, which buys time but is not a plan.

A Magento 2 upgrade is rarely just the core. Extensions, the theme, PHP, the database server and the search engine all have version rules, and Adobe does not patch those third-party services for you. We upgrade them together on staging, run full checkout and admin flows, then release in a planned window.

How we approach a Magento store

Version, code and the way forward

  1. 01 Check the release line Compare your version with Adobe’s published support dates and the PHP versions it needs.
  2. 02 Review the custom code Modules, theme overrides and extensions checked for upgrade blockers and security gaps.
  3. 03 Upgrade or move Patch, upgrade to a newer 2.4 release, or migrate to a different platform.
  4. 04 Test with real orders Checkout, tax, shipping and integrations proven on staging before production changes.

We give you the honest option, including leaving Magento if it no longer fits.

Magento work we take on

Magento stores tend to be large and heavily customized, so most requests are about keeping them secure, quick and current.

When upkeep outweighs the benefits, a planned move to Shopify, WooCommerce or a headless setup.

Illustration: Faster category and search pages

Faster category and search pages

Slow category and search pages usually trace back to a few causes: full-page cache not working, heavy extensions, indexers stuck on a schedule, or a bloated theme. We profile the store, fix the worst offenders first and measure real-visitor speed before and after each change.

What we do

  • Full-page cache and Varnish setup
  • Profiling of slow extensions
  • Indexer and cron health checks
  • Lighter images and theme assets
  • Speed measured before and after

AI features for a Magento catalog

AI can take on catalog and service work around the store. We build tools that draft product descriptions from attributes, suggest fixes for inconsistent attribute values across large catalogs and answer order-status questions from your order data, with staff approving catalog changes before anything is saved.

What we do

  • Descriptions drafted from attributes
  • Attribute cleanup suggestions
  • Order-status answers from order data
  • Staff approval before catalog saves
  • Updates through Magento’s REST API

How we approach a project

Magento 1 stores need a migration rather than an upgrade. Adobe’s Data Migration Tool moves settings, products, customers and orders into Magento 2, but storefront design, admin user accounts and access rules have to be recreated manually.

Sometimes the right advice is to leave. If your catalog and order rules no longer need Magento’s depth, a move to Shopify or a headless commerce build can reduce hosting and upkeep. Trade-heavy stores should also read B2B eCommerce development, and all of this sits under our eCommerce development services.

How we work

  • Supported versions, patched on schedule
  • Custom modules instead of core edits
  • Straight advice on staying or leaving

Our Process

  • Step 1: Code and version audit

    Code and version audit

We list the release, extensions, custom modules, theme overrides and server stack, and flag anything that blocks an upgrade.

  • Step 2: Written upgrade path

    Written upgrade path

You get a clear route, whether patch, upgrade or migrate, with the extensions to replace and the risks to plan around.

  • Step 3: Staging rehearsal

    Staging rehearsal

The full upgrade runs on a copy of production while your team tests orders, refunds, imports and integrations.

  • Step 4: Production cutover

    Production cutover

We repeat the rehearsed steps in a quiet window, keep a rollback point and watch logs and orders afterward.

Why Aranv for Magento

Fixes kept out of core

Changes go into custom modules and theme overrides, not Magento’s core files, so the next upgrade does not wipe out your fixes.

Extensions vetted before install

We check each extension’s update history, version support and code quality before adding it, because an abandoned extension can hold back every future upgrade.

Patches planned around Adobe

We follow Adobe’s security bulletins and release calendar and book your patch windows around them, instead of waiting for something to break.

Trade features we extend

We work with Adobe Commerce company accounts, shared catalogs and quote features, and extend them for trade pricing, credit limits and approval rules.

Let’s Talk

Magento and Adobe Commerce FAQs

  • Is Magento still supported?

Yes. Adobe still ships new 2.4 releases and publishes standard support dates for each one, running to May 31, 2029 for the newest. Older releases end sooner, so the real question is whether your version is still covered.

  • How long does a Magento 2 upgrade take?

It depends on how far behind the store is, how many extensions and custom modules it has and how much testing your team can do. A store one release behind with few extensions moves quickly; a heavily customized store several releases behind needs a longer plan. We estimate after the code audit.

  • Should we upgrade Magento or move to another platform?

Upgrade if you rely on Magento’s flexibility for complex catalogs, several store views or custom B2B rules. Consider moving if most of your budget goes to patching and hosting rather than new features. We set out the costs of both paths before you decide.

  • Can you migrate our Magento 1 store?

Yes. We move products, customers and orders with Adobe’s Data Migration Tool, rebuild the theme for Magento 2 and replace old extensions. We also check whether Magento 2 is the right target or another platform suits you better.

  • What is the difference between Adobe Commerce and Magento Open Source?

Magento Open Source is the free edition. Adobe Commerce is the licensed edition, with extra features such as Adobe’s B2B extension for company accounts and negotiated quotes, plus support from Adobe. Both share the same core code, so we work on either.

  • Do you support Magento stores after an upgrade?

Yes. We apply security patches as Adobe releases them, keep extensions and PHP current, watch performance and handle small changes, so your next upgrade starts from a clean, documented store.
