What a Node.js project includes
Aranv builds Node.js back ends for small and midsize businesses: APIs, integrations between your systems, real-time features and the services behind web and mobile apps.
Node.js runs JavaScript on the server, so the same language and much of the same tooling work across the front end and the back end. It was the most used web technology in Stack Overflow’s 2025 Developer Survey.
A typical scope covers API design, the service itself in TypeScript, authentication, the database, integrations, automated tests, deployment and monitoring. We use established frameworks such as Express, Fastify or NestJS, chosen to fit the project.
How a Node.js back end fits in
The layer that connects your systems
- 01 Apps send requests Web and mobile apps call one consistent API.
- 02 Node.js applies the rules Permissions, validation and business logic run in one place.
- 03 Systems stay in sync Integrations update your CRM, ERP, store and database.
- 04 Everything is monitored Logs, alerts and metrics show problems before users report them.
Hosting, security and data rules are agreed during discovery.
What we build with Node.js
Node.js handles many simultaneous connections efficiently, which suits APIs, integrations and real-time features.
-
APIs for web and mobile apps
REST and GraphQL APIs with sign-in, permissions and documentation.
-
System integrations
Connect your CRM, ERP, store, payments and email so data moves without re-typing.
-
Real-time features
Live updates, chat and notifications using WebSockets.
-
AI and automation services
Services that call language models, process documents and run scheduled jobs.
How we approach a project
For an existing Node.js service, start with its Node.js version and dependencies. Versions past end of life no longer receive security fixes, so moving to a current long-term support release is usually the first step.
See React development for the front end, LLM integration for AI features, and cloud services for hosting.
How we work
- One language from front end to back end
- APIs and integrations
- Monitored in production
Our Process
-
Discovery
Map the systems, data, rules and users involved, then design the API before writing the service.
-
Design and prototype
Wireframes or clickable screens for the main journeys, reviewed with your team before development.
-
Build in short iterations
Regular demos, code reviews and automated tests, so you see progress early and can adjust priorities.
-
Launch and support
A careful release, monitoring, updates for new platform versions and new features as your needs change.

Node.js FAQs
-
What is Node.js good for?
APIs, integrations, real-time features and services that handle many requests at once. For heavy number crunching another language can be a better fit, and we will say so.
-
Can Node.js connect to our existing systems?
Yes. Most systems offer APIs or exports, and Node.js has well-maintained libraries for databases, payments, email, CRMs and ERPs such as Odoo.
-
Do you use TypeScript?
Yes, for new services. Types catch many errors early and make the code easier for the next developer to understand.
-
How do you keep a Node.js service secure?
Current long-term support versions, regular dependency updates and scanning, input validation, least-privilege access to data, and monitoring with alerts.
